Printmaking and getting to the heart of an idea

My process lately has been of sliding back and forth between mediums, creating textures with print processes and digitally manipulating & screen printing them on yarn and then weaving the yarn into fabric. Using cast-off yarn and fabric to make collagraph print plates to continue to inform textures.

Overall, my interest has been in capturing movement and creating depth, even with one layer of print. The movement back and forth has been a result of approaching an idea from several angles to try and get to the heart of it.

When I first conceived the idea, I wanted to interview people to find how they experience the felt sense of something seen visually, whether viscerally or emotionally, possibly even verbally. For many of us, we are so influenced by what we absorb through our eyes, on levels we may not realize, it's a topic I'd love to explore more deeply.
